In short

Marzena studied international business management at the Saxion University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands and at the Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea. She holds the University of Oldenburg’s Master’s degree in “Sustainability Economics and Management” – a leading sustainability program in Germany.

Since October 2016, she has been a research associate at the Chair of Environmental Governance at the University of Freiburg, where her research activities focus on the identification and understanding of leverage points in the transformation of markets towards more sustainable forms and the implementation of sustainability strategies in medical institutions. In her PhD-Project, she builds on sociological theory of markets and organizational theory as well as sustainability and innovation research to investigate the dynamics of emerging bio-based markets by using the example of the Biomass-to-Liquid (BtL) Innovation in Germany.
