In Short

 

Chantal is an associate senior researcher at the Chair of Environmental Governance at the University of Freiburg. She holds an MSc in forest science from the University of Freiburg and finished her PhD in 2006 with Summa cum Laude at Freiburg. After a Post-Doc at the Institute of Forestry Economics she worked at the Centre for Renewable Energy at the University of Freiburg, leading different projects, among them the research group “Renewable Energy-Regions” (EE-Regionen). In the years 2005 and 2011 she was a Visiting Scholar at the Haas School of Business and the Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management, University of California, Berkeley.

Her research focus is on sustainable resource use at local and regional levels; inter- and transdisciplinary studies on the socio-ecological use of natural resources, especially renewable energies; sustainable behavior of enterprises; socio-economic analyses of actor networks, institutions, organizational structures, leadership and governance.
