Business models of collaborative consumption

The aim of the PhD Thesis is to further develop an idea about the types of business models that are used in the sharing economy as such. Especially business models of the collaborative consumption and lifestyle are taken into the focus and the question is raised if business models of collaborative consumption can be seen as sustainable business models. This research interest is broken down into four parts. Part I is focusing on the theoretical framework of business models and sustainable business models that is already available in literature. Part II is mapping already existing business models of the sharing economy and tries to group different business ideas and their models. Part III is asking how business models of collaborative consumption came into life and in which directions sharing economy is heading to. Part IV is looking on the performance of collaborative consumption business models. The PhD thesis will be written partly in the project "SoNaTe" and is also funded out of the project funds.
