In short

In his doctor thesis Martin is investigating the creation of sustainable business models and how these are able to influence system transformations. A focus is set on the interrelatedness between concepts like strategy, business models, purpose and mindsets and how sustainability can be integrated in them. Thereby, business models are interpreted as abstract schemas of real systems that managers hold in their mind that shape economic practices.

Special interest is given to practices that are discussed as being ecological sustainable. On the example of the fast-developing sharing economy, Martin is working on a better theoretical and practical understanding of these research questions.
